    The Mercer County Improvement Authority operates a curbside recycling program for residents and small businesses in the following municipalities:

    Accepted Recycling Material

     

     

    ACCEPTED MATERIALS INCLUDE:

    • Mixed Paper, Office Paper & Window Envelopes 
    • Corrugated Cardboard  (flatten boxes and/or cut into manageable bundles)
    • Telephone Books & “Soft” Cover Books
    • Hard Cover Books (Hard cover must be removed)
    • Glass Food & Beverage Jars/Bottles (all colors)
    • Aluminum & Metal Beverage Containers
    • Pet Food Cans
    • Milk Jugs & Plastic Beverage Bottles 
    • Detergent & Shampoo Containers
    • Juice Boxes & Juice/Beverage Cartons
    • Plastics with #1, #2, #5 Symbols

    FOLLOW THESE RULES TO ENSURE YOUR MATERIAL IS COLLECTED!
    • USE OFFICIAL MERCER COUNTY RECYCLING BINS
    • PLACE MATERIAL ON THE CURB BY 7:00 AM
    • PLACE MATERIAL LOOSLEY INSIDE BIN (NO PLASTIC BAGS, LINERS, ETC.)
    • REVIEW ACCEPTED MATERIALS LIST ABOVE AND AVOID ANY CONTAMINATION LISTED BELOW

    Recycling in East Windsor & Hightstown is under the jurisdiction of the municipality.

    Residents of multi-family complexes, including condominiums and townhouses should contact the management office for information on recycling.
